RAZOR CLAM DIGGING
Day Trip After breakfast, your tour guide will get you outfitted with hip boots, shovels and buckets. Then we are on way for an incredible 40 minute scenic travel. This is a sport that is favored and enjoyed by many Alaskans. Your tour guide will instruct you as to how to successfully dig for the clams. It is so much fun.......We will return to the lodge where you can relax ~pour yourself a cocktail, enjoy a soak in the hot tub, and take in the breathtaking Kenai River. More information about Clam Digging The glacial silt beaches from Clam Gulch to Ninilchik are the most popular and productive areas for digging razor clams in Alaska. These beaches also offer magnificent views of the volcanic mountains of the Alaska Range located across Cook Inlet. Clams are dug during any minus tide, but a tide of minus two feet or lower is recommended for best results, therefore clam digging will only be available during appropriate tides. Ideal dates for clam digging for 2005 will be updated as soon as tidal information is available. |
