Day Trip   Your day beings with a hearty breakfast.  Then into the van for a scenic travel to the Swanson River Canoe Trails for a tranquil five or six hours of low impact exploration.  Photograph wildlife.  See what lies beyond the next bend as you paddle your canoe along the banks of the river system.  The resort van will be waiting to return you to the lodge where you will want to share your experiences while waiting for dinner.  Lunch and snacks are provided.  This is an excellent adventure to add to your trip.

More information on Kenai National Wildlife Refuge  The Kenai Peninsula has some of the finest canoe trails in Alaska located in a pristine area of northern lowlands of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. Swan Lake and Swanson River Canoe Trails are located in this nationally designated wilderness. This is an area of over 1.3 million acres of unspoiled wilderness. The area contains thousands of lakes, at least 199 species of amphibians, birds, and mammals, and 106 miles of trails linking 70 jeweled lakes in a network of interconnecting passages. The routes are also designated National Recreational Trails. Your guide into these waters has lived on the Kenai Peninsula for many years and has an intimate knowledge of every byway of this water and trail system.
