BEAR VIEWING UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL

 Excursions

The opportunity to view wild brown (grizzly) and black bears in their natural surrounding is one of the most alluring aspects of visiting Alaska.  The Kenai Peninsula holds strong populations of both black and brown bears and although some do catch a glimpse of them while visiting the Kenai, seeing a bear is actually quite rare.  We offer three day trip options to experience these wild creatures.

Day Trip Option One  Fly with us over the Cook Inlet oil platforms, past two active volcanoes (Mt. Redoubt and Mt. Iliamna) in Lake Clark National Park.  Great aerial photography opportunities.   We will land on the beach and take a short hike back in where you will be able to photograph and watch the bears play such as in the photo above.  Return to the lodge where you can relax ~ fish from the bank, take in a game of golf or view your bear video on the big screen in the library.

Day Trip Option Two  Perhaps the most consistent place to view brown bears in Alaska, is Wolverine Creek.  This is definitely our most popular full-day fishing with the bears excursion.  There is an option to only view the bears if fishing does not interest you.  You will take off on a float plane and land on a small lake, viewing brown bears from a boat, accompanied by your personal guide.

Day Trip Option Three  Spend a special day in remote Alaska with the massive Grizzly or Kodiak Bear. You will fly by floatplane in to pristine, uncrowded areas where nothing will separate you from the bears but reverence. Come away with not only great pictures but a thorough appreciation of the bears and the back country they dwell in as well.
